The Working While Black Expo aims to educate workers, share innovative approaches to mobilization and organizing, promote progress and foster cooperation.
Convened by the National Black Worker Center Project, the Working While Black Expo will combine our culture of fellowship, food, networking and entertainment with learning experiences that bring black communities together to reflect, focus and find solutions to fundamental challenges we face in our work. Together, we will share experiences and innovative ideas through workshops, forums and round table discussions that allow us to develop cooperative ties, define solutions and exchange knowledge.

About the NBWCP
Founded in 2011, the National Black Worker Center Project (NBWCP) is a network of eight Black worker centers that formed in response to the ongoing jobs crisis afflicting the Black working class. Our network’s centers are based in: Los Angeles; Chicago; New Orleans; Baltimore; Raleigh-Rocky Mount; Greenville; Washington, D.C.; and Oakland. Our mission is to support and incubate Black worker centers that empower Black workers to advance their rights and improve the quality of jobs in key employment sectors; to provide education about the impacts of low wage and unemployment on Black communities; and to prevent racial discrimination in hiring and other employment practices and policies.
